Finally back at it! After pulling all of my hair out trying to get it going, I finally sent it to Fordnut74 for a once over. After initially having a few issues with the pump not priming, he finally got it going and after a dis and re assembly, it is working like a champ. Unfortunately there was no smoking gun, but hey, I now have a completely rebuilt system with a bag of spares. 50 mi in and all is well so time to start pouring the miles on. Thanks everybody.

Glad it worked out well. Nice thing about the bench top and the right test equipment is I can keep beating it with a bigger hammer until it works right, with a whole lot less time, mess and frustration.

This was a weird one. He had already replaced pretty much all active parts of the manifold(CV, Purge, PR Reg, Pump) and his manifold had no signs of buildup on the inside. At the same time though the pre-screen was just sitting in there and it doesn't take much at all to mess with a pumps ability to prime. A very small piece of unfiltered White Castle can easily lodge itself in any number of strategic locations that prevent the manifold from being able to prime/purge effectively. That's the best I can answer. Strip to Parade Rest, rebuild and test.
