Default Pressure switch cycles

So my pressure switch has been cycling when the system is not on or up to temp. I'll go a thousand cycles just walking in the store and back. My scorpion is finally on its way out, it wasn't running the other day so I smacked it with a pipe and it turned on. Y'all think the motor is causing it? I also noticed I have PR even with the pump and system off.

Sounds like a bad pressure switch.

Mine did the exact same thing 2 months ago. PR would stay big all the time. Pressure switch count went up by 1000's every drive. Otherwise the system operated normally. New pressure switch solved the problem.

so now my PR in lower case, my system reads low pressure although the pump says its on, and my pressure gauge is telling me that I am running vegetable oil. if the pressure switch is stuck in that position, am i returning my fuel to the diesel tank?

this exact thing happened to me when I first got my system and happens about every 3,000 miles and ive had mine only since june '14 v4 system. for me at least when the WVO filter starts to be on its way out and the pressure drops just slightly less than diesel pump pressure the system will start freaking out. it will say low pressure but you will hear the pump still on and the big PR will be on. this means both pumps are on as the system is seeing low pressure and normal pressure faster than it can indicate and thus both pumps (diesel and WVO are on). Since the WVO pressure is just now slightly lower than diesel and the WVO pump is running the check valve is open and the diesel pressure will overcome the WVO pressure and back feed your diesel into the WVO tank until diesel/WVO start shooting out of the pressure relief valve on the tank getting WVO/diesel everywhere and wasting a ton of diesel. if it isn't bad enough you wont see that much of a drop in diesel but if the D/P from diesel and WVO is bad your diesel fuel gage will drop very rapidly. the problem with all of this is if your driving and not paying attention as I was the first time you will never notice. there is no drop in power or change in anything except the low pressure indication and your diesel gage dropping rapidly in my case. so I just use my trip on the truck everytime I change the filter and so I know when ive gone exactly 3,000 miles and I just change the filter instead of trying to judge it off pressure. ive done it this way for almost a year now and everything has been fine.
