Default Culture award - february 2013

"Most creative use of traditional WVO filtering/storage supplies".

Post a photo on this thread of your rube-goldberg wafflemaker that makes use of a cubie. Or show us how you transmogrified a 55-gallon drum into a velociraptor-trap.

Be sure to detail WHAT it is we're looking at, and WHAT the parts were you used... (since few people here would immediately recognize the heat-seeking missle defense system you assembled with used filter bags).

$50 BFT Coupon awarded at the end of the month. Contest judged using a combination of the LOL and "that's a really good idea" scales.

(Common sense rules apply.... it's all in good fun... "don't be that guy".... blah blah blah... etc etc...)

The first one that came to mind was the 275 gal tote I used for a septic tank. No photo of it being installed and I'm not digging it up for a photo op.

I have a very, very, very bad feeling that this thread is destined for some very dark turns over the next 28 days.

did you build stairs or just use a step ladder to get to the hole on top?
did you mount a seat over the hole or just hover?

Just a few questions that come to mind.......

Speaking of a septic system doubling as grease filtration.....

This was my garage 9/9/11 after the flood..... My barrels were filled with sludge and sewage. Sewer treatment facility near my neighborhood got flooded too. (big thanks to Billman for helping me get back up and running!)

Its amazing how much of a mess a little bit of dirty oil on the bottom of a barrel will make when you have 4-6 ft of water in your garage!

A little off topic and certainly not on purpose!

(bump)

I'm now in the process of installing a 110 gallon propane tank in my filtering setup to serve as a heating/settling tank with vacuum capabilities.

This opens up my 100 gallon grease dumpster for all sorts of "non-WVO" mayhem.
