Default Best approach for going frechfryville on pre1999 fords?

I want to convert a 98 or earlier Ford diesel to veggie. I have a 2000 f350 7.3 with the V3 coversion. Is the my best approach to get a V3 compatible 97-99 ford and use the V3 brain of my trucks system with that truck and switch out the new V4 Brain with mine....assuming all the other assemblies are compatible?

Thanks

For an OBS powerstroke you will need to convert to an electric fuel pump. Give Dave a call, www.veggiegarage.com

What he said. You will have to delete the manual fuel pump add filter electric fuel pump and fpr. Then the install the veggie kit. Dave has a nice set up he just built

Also stick with a 94.5 and up to keep away from the idi.

Why?
IDIs love vegi. my tractor is an 86 IDI and I run vegi in the main tank. IDIs are much more forgiving on less than hot vegi. temps. The injector lines and pump get very warm after a few minutes so it becomes a heated system at that point.
Call me crazy but after 4 years doing this, I cant seem to kill it.

My 93 turbo idi runs great on veggie. Sold it to my son and he burns about 60 gallons a week of my veggie going to welding school and back.. Long purge time compared to my psd veggievan but thats life.

Default About to start, deleting fuel valley

So I intend to blog about this experience, but I have a 97 obs, that I put a greasel system in 7 yrs ago porboy style and got about 50k of vege through it before it died last year. System just will not deliver vege through OEM components. Truck is running great and I've decided to dbl down.

I'm going to upgrade both my filtering and truck..

AzDave and SkiSky Jason are going to delete fuel valley, run an Airdog 2 for the D2 and V4 for vege....and going for a custom under body tank in place of factory rear and spare.

I can't get away from the affinity for the OBS

So I'm going to put my resources into the filtering system upgrade.

More to come in a new thread.
