Default 300,000 miles on grease

Later on this week I will roll the mileage to 533,000 miles on my truck. What this means specifically is that I have been running on wvo for 300,000 miles. I converted my truck in 2006 when it had 233,000 miles on the dial. I think I had one of the first 50 V-1 setups and still have most of the components of it. The major change is that the blue submarine heat exchanger got removed a couple of years ago as I discovered that because of the extra heat and the copper tubing it created a lot of polly. I still have the first Fass pump that was used after the aeromotor pump bombed after a couple of months. my Fass has been rebuilt twice and is right now is my back up to a spare i have.
Since i moved to Utah in Feb. I have not had much luck finding oil, but manage to find enough to run a tank of oil every other month. Hopefully i'll eventually have enough to stay on oil all the time.
Till then, I'll be aiming for 600,000 miles!!!!

Thats awesome man. If you had to put a dollar amount on your savings what would you guesstimate?
At 15 mpg average, thats 20,000 gal. (an average pool holds 10,000 gal) ...
dang, thats a lot of oil.

Glad to hear the high miles. I just bought a 7.3 v3 ex with 250 on it and plan to drive it for a long time. I one injector knocking a bit from time to time. I may have to replace it soon. No big deal if I get 500k out of the ex. Maybe more sources sources will turn up soon

Congrats on the reaching that milestone! That is an incredible amount of money saved over the long term.

How many miles do you normally put on in a week?

Clay, I'd estimate I've saved over $50,000 since I converted.
Rob, I think I was putting about 600 to 800 miles a week on my truck before I retired and moved to Utah.
