Default A walk down memory lane

I just found this pic, my original V1 after Jason finished installing it back in 2006.
It has come a long way from this to the V4.

Linky no worky....

But, on the subject - here's what I did at the same time:

Here you can see fuel pump mounted on its bracket in place and FPR/solenoid bracket hangin' loosely where it will go. Also, black fittings on left are for HIH.

This is looking forward under drivers side of truck. Here you see end of HIH for supply and return lines, fuel pump (stock replacement-type), FPR (magnafuel) and purge solenoid, and VO filter (WIX 24006 - 10 micron) w/copper HE wrapped around it.

closer view of filter/HE.

And under the hood was pretty primitive - but worked flawlessly!!

Here's the manifold. The VO checkvalve is behind the alternator, diesel CV is on front of manifold. The fittings on top are for gauges and the 1/4" copper goes to heads.

This is drivers-side rear fuel "test" port.

Modified stock filter lines.

So, I ran D2 and VO through CV's into the manifold block (which also had fuel pressure and fuel temp senders in it. From manifold, I used copper (OMG!! - LOL) to go to where I spliced the OE fuel lines under the GP relay. The test ports where only used for PURGE.

For heat I had TIH with a looped return thru TIH - the loop was like 25ft!! I regularly saw >180* VO before the heads.

This system worked FLAWLESSLY until I decided to 'upgrade' to the newfangled internally regulated fuel pumps (tried Raptor first, then FASS). After getting fed up with the unreliable $500 pumps, I went back to the PSD pump and have run that ever since - but I redid the fuel lines and put CV's at the heads and plumbed VO into the test ports V3-style...

Wow, I've never actually seen a v1. Is there any difference between the v1 and v2?
Shows how young I am.....what's an 8track? Hahaha

I hate to say this, but I'm still using mine!!! A testament to Jasons work!!!

A few FASS pumps and a set of new check valves and I'm still vegging.
