Default 2003 F150 Supercrew 4.6 2WD Conversion to 4BT

I didn't want to wait to 2015 and couldn't afford it even if I had waited that long so I made my own. http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showth...version-to-4BT

I love the way the cummins sounds and I am gradually improving performance. I put a 3- 3way valve setup on my truck.

I sold my V3 powerstroke and had to have another wvo burner on the road. Back on 12-26 I was running down the road and switched over "too" early with cold WVO and exploded my injector pump.

You can see the gaping wound in the side that is traced by the red line.

Bought a pump that was supposed to be good, but wasn't. $1000 later I have a rebuilt pump with factory new pump head. Long story short, I pulled some wvo just to see what was up. It looked cloudy, but it has a few gallons of diesel in the 40 gal tank also. I did a pan test and bubbles were all over, but I don't know if the diesel would bubble or not. I had the pan smoking when I dropped oil sample. I did a spoon test with a lighter and it did not pop!.

SO, the question is does anyone analyze wvo. I've searched and did not find a company. The reason I ask is I'm not sure of the cause of failure, but feel pretty sure it was cold wvo hitting the pump head on my VE pump. The rotor seized in the head and it exploded everything.

The injector pump mechanic said he saw it happen on a stand when a guy poured cold water over the head of one that was running and saw it on another one when a farmer hosed jis equipment down while running and hit the pump head with a stream of cool water. I've not run WVO since that day. I want to be sure it was just the temp difference and not a lot of water that caused my issue. Any advice (other than I should have gotten a v3 and prevented this)? BTW, I have added a temp switch to prevent early switchover.

Default laboratory

I have some friends that own a laboratory in castle rock colorado. I can ask them about analyzing wvo. what would you be looking for, water content? would you be looking for anything else?

I suppose water would be the main issue. If there's anything else you'd suggest looking for, I suppose we could look while we are there.

THANKS, they would check for water, but will only look for what you ask them to look for. I was hoping to find a lab that would know what to look for in fuel. i realize there are infinite possibilities of contamination, but i would suspect there's a short list of certain things to look for in fuel!

That's some pretty narly damage. You might have already tried this. But I would suggest running a hot plate test or weigh, heat, weigh then take the difference in lost weight and that is your water count.

Good Luck

If there's any diesel in the WVO sample it will bubble on the HPT.
