Default 1999 f250 with 395,000 and leaky transmission

What's the value of one of these high mileage trucks with issues. Not sure if I continue to fix this truck or do I sell it keep it for parts pull the v3 and put it in another truck. This thing runs very strong. Leaks some transmission fluid and some oil bit don't need to add any oil in between oil change . I trust it to drive to where ever just as long as trans holds enough fluid. It's not a crew cab just extended cab. Replacement trucks with 250,000 are about 8-10k plus cost of install of v3.... to much time on my hands.

Default A little drippy after highway run of about 80 miles

I really want to fix truck right and get a new truck too. Jb weld is a temporary patch that isn't holding well. Should I clean trans with brake clean before jb weld?

Yes, clean it with brake clean and it should seal better.

After Brake Clean, clean up. Follow up with soap and water to remove brake clean residue. Brake clean dissolves JB Weld. When I need to get a JB Welded prescreen off I soak in brake clean for an hour or so and you can peal off JB Weld. Just an FYI.

Default Truck is now fixed

No more leaky transmission tail housing, new clutch kit, transmissions was partially rebuilt, drive shaft balanced and new rear u joint , new yoke(which is what probably caused cracks in tail housing and unbalanced drive shaft ). Truck is good to go. Wallet has a decent sized hole in it. Now wondering what a truck like this is worth. Potential new job comes with a company truck. MAybe looking to sell current trucks to get one crew cab manual trans truck but still working out details of new job. lots of questions but one answer is no more red trans fluid on my garage floor. Third gear grind is gone.
