Default Need oil in Miami or FL Keys

Hopefully I've paid it forward, because its my turn to need some oil.

I'm making a trip to Key West on August 27th and returning August 30th. I could carry an extra 50 gallons of oil with me but would prefer not to because I'd have to buy a transfer pump and a tote. If I need to do that, it'd be less expensive to just buy diesel for the trip back to Tampa.

So is there anyone in Miami near the turnpike or someone in the Keys area that could hook me up with 40-50 gallons of filtered oil to keep me burning grease for the entire trip?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Just a thought, i carried 13 5 gal. cubies with me on a trip from OK to LA and back when i went to haul my new 08 PSD home. I have the newer tank design with the filler hole positioned straight up and down so i was able to use an empty Clorox bottle with the bottom cut out as a funnel. It fir perfectly in the filler neck and i had a large target to pour the cubies into the tank. Not sure which tank you have but there are other options for the older tanks with the slanted fill neck.
Just a thought.

Clay, I did that 2 years ago and it was a PITA. Since I have a topper on the truck, I'm under there for 30 minutes or more pouring oil through a funnel and trying not to make a mess. Let me tell you, it gets HOT in there (Florida sun plus a dark blue truck).

I'm looking for the easy way out.

Clay we did the same thing with my buddies truck from NY to WI and back. Had a LOT of extra cubies (he could only get about 12mpg on a good day in his 6.0). However, it kills your bedspace.

I was hauling a huge flatbed goosneck down to LA getting 11 mpg and on the way back with the 08 SD on the trailer, i was getting 7 mpg. I could almost watch the fuel gauge drop.

Those numbers sound right though. We were in an extended cab short bed with no trailer doing 75mph. 12mpg.... He sold that truck after a slew of problems and bought himself a CR Dodge... which he now gets WORSE mileage with hahah.

Yup, those numbers sound about right to me too. I average 12-13 mpg on 37" tires with 4.30 gears and dropped to 10 mpg pulling a 21' center console down to the Keys running 75 mph.

Still need some oil in the Keys.

Oops, sorry for hijacking the thread there.

Maybe you should try making a craigslist ad in that area, you'd probably get a much bigger audience...
